No. 9 North-West Scotland

This new edition starts on the Cromarty and Dornoch Firths, along by Dornoch and Bonar Bridge to see the salmon leap at the Falls of Shin. On by Lairg, Rogart and Altnaharra to Bettyhill, Tongue, Talmine and along the north coast to Durness and Cape Wrath lighthouse. Then south by Kinlochbervie, Scourie, Kylesku (with an entertaining boat trip on Loch Glencoul), Lochinver, Loch Assynt, Inchnadamph and finally to Ullapool. This is wild and rugged country, only sparsely tamed. It is an ancient remote part of Highland heritage with a special grandeur of its own.
